In the last year, I've resumed working with beads after a long hiatus.  Getting back to my roots, I suppose.  Beading is the first art form I remember learning.  My grandmother started teaching me how to weave seed beads when I was just a few years old.  As a child, I was especially drawn to the vibrant colours and transparency of the glass beads.  I enjoyed how they became illuminated as the sunlight passed through them and how the light took on the colour of the bead as it exited.  Investigating the interplay between light and colour has been a foundational aspect of my art practice since early on, and this is just another manifestation of that curiousity and appreciation.
